Our client has hundreds of project managers across the world. Each with specific skills, interests and availability to work on projects. They were managing the assignment of these resources via Excel and needed a way to mash-up multiple data sources and deliver it to staffing managers online. Our solution was to create a front-end visualization tool in Tableau with parameter driven criteria but also the ability to do fuzzy searches on names, skills and locations. Of particular 'success' was the ability to match interest against availablility. The back-end is a combination of .Net online input tool, SQL databases and various APIs to the source data.
